Civil War Era Cutlass Pistol
An interesting combination weapon, this small boxlock percussion pistol has been fitted with a large clip pointed blade. A style popular in the USA from 1830s because of the famed James Bowie. Later this style of combination weapon was patented by George Elgin.
The blade is marked ‘C.S ARMOURY’ and there is a faded mark above it. This is the armoury marking of the Confederate State Armoury in Richmond Virginia between the years of 1861 and 1865 making this a very unique and strange firearm
The barrel is 7cm long and the blade is 14.5cm weighing 345g overall
