A Marlin five-shot, .32" calibre single action rimfire revolver from 1873-1876. 75mm rifled top-hinged ribbed barrel, with extractor pin below barrel. A bold foliate engraving to nickel-plated frame, steel barrel and fluted cylinder, spur trigger and original plain ivory grip scales.

Serial number 1724 stamped to the breech face of barrel, 'T MARLIN NEW-HAVEN CT PAT JULY, 1 1872' to left barrel and 'XXX STANDARD 1872' to top of barrel.

Encased in original felt-lined wood hinged case holding 'G & J. W. HAWKSLEY' oil bottle. The lid decorated with a plain brass escutcheon, with fitted lock and key.
